New Star Wars film could see return of original cast, including Harrison Ford

LOS ANGELES: The return of Star Wars has fans across the board excited and apprehensive, considering the mediocre success of the prequel trilogy little more than a decade ago. But they are becoming more energized as reports of the original cast being sought for the sequel to Episode XI: Return of the Jedi.
Already, Mark Hamill – also known as Luke Skywalker – and Carrie Fisher are reportedly interested in reprising their roles that made them international stars in the late 1970s.
Making matters more interesting, Han Solo, or actor Harrison Ford, has also been reported to have shown interest in playing the character again.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting a “highly placed source” within either Lucasfilm or its new owner, Disney, as claiming Harrison Ford is “open to the idea of doing the movie,” that movie being Star Wars: Episode 7, currently in the planning phases in preparation for its 2015 release.
The source confirms that Ford, Hamill and Fisher are all ready to join the project if the chips fall in the right places and their presence is requested.
It would be a huge boost for the franchise, which has seen ebbs and flows of supporters over the decades, especially after the overall failure of Episode 1 to garner much applause.
Hamill and Fisher's willingness comes as no surprise to anyone whom has followed their post-Star Wars careers. Hamill has become somewhat of a geek legend with his voice work, most notably as the twisted animated Joker in the Batman Animated series. He and Fisher have always been open to talking about their roles in the original Star Wars films, whether with the media or at various fan events.
Surprisingly, it is Ford who has been most antagonistic to his role in the Star Wars saga. He has never spoken kindly about his iconic role as Han Solo. Though Solo arguably helped launch Ford's career into superstardom, Ford has always talked negatively about the character.
Now, however, all three could find themselves once again in front of the camera for the 2015 new film.
