Free Gilad Shalit Free Copts
Published in Bikya Masr on 12 - 01 - 2010

Gilad Shalit, born 28 August 1986, is an Israeli soldier who was captured on June 25, 2006, by Palestinian militants in a cross-border raid. He was abducted through the Kerem Shalom crossing (in Israel), and has been held as a prisoner in the Gaza Strip by Hamas since.
Shalit, 19 years old at the time of his capture, held the rank of corporal in the IDF's Armor Corps at the time of his abduction, but has since been promoted to staff sergeant
He was the first Israeli soldier captured by Palestinian militants since Nachshon Wachsman in 1994. Shalit holds French citizenship, a fact that encouraged France and the European Union to be involved to some extent in efforts to release him. He also received Italian citizenship after his abduction. Hamas has refused requests from the International Committee of the Red Cross to allow the ICRC to visit Shalit. Several human rights organizations have stated that the terms and conditions of Shalit's detention are contrary to international humanitarian law. In exchange for his release, Hamas is demanding the release of 1,000 Palestinian prisoners held in Israel, including many convicted of deadly terrorist attacks against Israelis. The United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict, which released a report in September 2009, called for Shalit to be released.
Israeli leaders are on the verge of accepting a deal that would release 450 hardcore Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit…
Senior Hamas officials will meet with a German mediation team in Gaza Strip to discuss the Shalit during the meeting the German mediators will present Israel's final position on the prisoner exchange agreement, in which the Jewish state is expected to release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, some of them arch-terrorists, in exchange for captive soldier Gilad Shalit.
Egypt is pressuring Hamas to make further allowances, senior Hamas official Mahmoud al-Zahar, Hamas ,They are scheduled to meet with Egyptian and German mediators in Cairo in an attempt to wrap up the deal
Egypt's foreign minister urged Israel to release 1,000 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for captured soldier Gilad Shalit. Egypt has been mediating a prisoner swap and Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said Israel needs to show flexibility. The Egyptian minister said a prisoner swap could also lead to an opening of border
Egypt's secret warrior General Intelligence Service Omar Suleiman has recently served as diplomatic face, traveling throughout the region as Mubarak's personal emissary. This charge includes working as a mediator during ongoing Israeli and Palestinian negotiations and as Cairo's interlocutor to dozens of Palestinian groups, including Hamas.
When I think about the Islamic Egyptian regime interest in Israel and to seek its satisfaction to release Gilad is contrary to its attitude toward Copts in Egypt. the government did not disclose Hani Saroufim killers. Release the following individuals: Father Mitass Wahabaa and Raafat Attef and Enas Raffat, Amal Saaed, Sister Mary Ragheb Meshreky, Dr. George Saad Louis, Khalil Jamil Jadallah Bakhit, Louis Andrew Constantine, Medhat Youssef Metthias, Susan Jane Hajlov, Atef Rushdie Hanna, Raafat Attalla and Hisham Sameer.
Christians in Egypt are reportedly facing killings, destruction and looting of their property, deportation from their homes and the forced Islamization of their minor daughters.
They also come as Coptic Christians increasingly accuse the Egyptian State Security and other security authorities of having a hand in all crimes taking place against the Copts in Egypt.
“The Islamic Egyptian government facilitates attacks against Coptic Christians directly by destroying church properties, unlawfully detaining, raping and torturing converts to Christianity and failing to prosecute the Islamic extremists who attack Coptic Christians Citing the U.S. State Department’s 2009 report on religious freedom, Egyptian government has engaged in acts “which generally obviated the prosecution of perpetrators of crimes against Copts and precluded their recourse to the judicial system.”
Furthermore, there is a “failure to investigate and prosecute perpetrators.“
“State security and police forces reportedly instigated a sectarian clash in… and the Government again failed to prosecute perpetrators of crimes against Copts.”
. Is the problem of Gilad Shalit, the most important problems of the Copts?
Is Israel's sake, Islamic regim when most of the church have been imprisoned unjustly highpriest and announced that more than once?
Does the Israeli soldier is more important than the Egyptian soldier, who is still crying for his family and instead of sympathy and heal the wounds ordered the family not speaking to internal or external information.
Are the children of Israel most important of the Coptic children victim of el kosh Egypt?
Despite the escalation of attacks against Coptic churches, property on recent months, Egyptian regime did not criticize these Islamic barbaric attacks taking place against its own people, while traveling across the globe asking for the rights of Palestinians Terrorism!
