KUALA LUMPUR: Companies are preparing themselves for Malaysia's largest beauty trade fair to open July 16 and run for four days at the Putra World Trade Center in the country. It is a massive ordeal, with some 300 companies participating and showing off more than 600 brands in what has beauty experts excited. “I can't wait, it is really a great time for us in the industry to get out there and see what is new and what people are wanting for the coming year,” said Salma Rahman, a marketing executive with a leading international brand. She told Bikyamasr.com that “this is the exhibition that really sets the trends for the coming year in Southeast Asia.” The 8th Malaysia International Exhibition and Conference on Cosmetics, Beauty and Spa is a four-day event. The organizer, ECMI Trade Fairs, said in a press release that the fair “promises the visitors an opportunity to explore more international brands and expand business network across the Asean countries.” “We are organizing this fair with all the international brands with one aim – to scout for potential business partners from Malaysia and the Asean region,” said the statement. Highlighting the year's main events will be the first international spa exhibition, being dubbed “Asean Spa and Wellness Forum 2012,” and for the international spa industry, will be a means for locals and foreign representatives to discuss their experiences to push the booming spa and wellness center sector in the region forward.
