KUALA LUMPUR: Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean arrived in China on Wednesday for an official visit in an effort to continue to bolster relations between the two Asian countries, the foreign ministry said. Teo's visit to Beijing will include meetings with top Chinese officials, such as Vice-Premier Li Kegiang, and will aim at increasing dialogue between the two, especially on economic issues. Teo will also visit Suzhou on July 6 to co-chair the 9th Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) meeting with Vice Premier Wang, an annual high-level platform to review existing collaborations and explore new areas of cooperation, China's Xinhua news agency reported on Tuesday. They will co-chair the 14th Suzhou Industrial Park Joint Steering Council and the 5th Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city (TEC) JSC meetings. Teo will also make site visits to the Suzhou Industrial Park and the Tianjin Eco-City and meet senior provincial officials.
