DUBAI: The Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced over the weekend that it has bought food supplies from markets in Yemen to distribute among those in need across the country. “The foundation has bought over 30 baskets of food supplies from the Yemeni markets in the first phase of the initiative,” the Foundation said in a press release. “Thirty Yemeni families will benefit from the gesture as each basket contains food sufficient for five to eight people for the next three months,” it added. UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has allocated 500 million dirhams ($57 million) to distribute essential food items for the Yemeni people.
