KUALA LUMPUR: A French tourist who was murdered in Malaysia in early May last year, was reportedly raped by the attacker, forensics experts told a court on Wednesday. A Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital medical forensics specialist told the High Court in the murder trial of Stephanie Foray that she did not discount the likelihood that the deceased could have been raped. Marni Zainal Abidin, the 11th prosecution witness in the trial of the 30-year-old French tourist who was murdered on Pulau Tioman last year, said she assisted in Foray's post-mortem on August 8, 2011. The doctor said the chemist's department found traces of semen in the murdered woman. Upon examination by Deputy Public Prosecutor Salim Soib Hamid, she was unable to determine if the rape had occurred before or after Foray was killed. Asni Omar, 37, allegedly murdered Foray at an unnumbered house in Kampung Tekek, Pulau Tioman between 8pm on May 10, 2011 and 12 noon on May 12, 2011, the Bernama news agency reports. The doctor also told the court she had estimated the time of death to be between four weeks and three months through an etymology test. The victim died due to probable blunt force trauma to the head which caused several skull and facial bone fractures, she added. “There were no signs of significant disease, which could have caused Foray's death. “I ascertained this by examining the victim's internal organs such as heart, lungs and liver. Even though the organs were dry and decomposing, there were no signs of disease," she said. The trial resumes on Thursday.
