DUBAI: Malaysia's Prime Minister Najib Razak is en route to Saudi Arabia where he will pay his respects to the ultra-conservative Gulf Kingdom after Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz al-Saudi passed away two days ago. The official Bernama news agency reported that Razak and his wife left Kuala Lumpur in the early afternoon on Monday for the official state visit. Also accompanying the Prime Minister was the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Jamil Khir Baharum. On Saturday, a statement from the royal family said that Crown Prince Nayef died at a hospital abroad, while Saudi Arabian television station, Al-Arabiya confirmed that the Crown Prince had died in Geneva, Switzerland. Prince Nayef, 78, was appointed as the Crown Prince in October 2011 following the death of Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, and he was also the Saudi Arabian Home Minister since 1975. Razak is scheduled to return home early on Wednesday morning, the news agency reported.
