SANA'A: The Central Security Forces in Sana'a told Bikyamasr.com that it had alerted the interior ministry of a potential al-Qaeda bomb attack in Sana'a as intelligence reports pointed out to the presence of Islamic militants within the city. According to sources within the ministry, Abdullah Mohamed Jabir al-Shabwani, a well-known terrorist would have managed to enter the capital despite the many security checkpoints, intended to carry out a car bomb attack. In a statement made online, the Interior Ministry wrote that al-Shabwani was traveling in a Land Cruiser car 2009, stressing that “the security authorities had been placed on high alert and ordered to take necessary measures including precise checking at exits and entries to face sabotage and terrorist attacks.” The terror threat comes amid reports that the armed forces aided by local tribes in the southern province of Abyan are making progresses against al-Qaeda fighters, forcing them back from their outposts.
