SANA'A: Officials in Yemen announced that the next Arab League (AL)conference of 2012, which is set to start on Sunday, will discuss Yemen's humanitarian crisis, while trying to establish measures that will put a halt to a fast degrading situation in the already poorest country of the Arabic Peninsula. The AL asked that Organization of Islamic cooperation and Humanitarian Forum to participate in the debate and to bring to the table its expertise in terms of viable solutions and programs. A recent press release read, “in the light of such political upheavals, as well economic and security issues taking place in Yemen, which have over the past year exacerbated the humanitarian crisis, bringing upon Yemeni men, women and children much suffering, the Arab League decided it was time for its members to step in and alleviate suffering wherever it was, and find a solution for Yemen.” With unemployment levels being as high as 40 percent, and millions at food risk, Yemen is facing increasingly difficult challenges.
