CAIRO: The Suez Canal's revenues achieved during the month of March, revenues estimated $428 million, as a result of the passage of 1460 ships with a total tonnage amounted to 76.671 million tons. General Ahmed Fadel, head of the Suez Canal Authority announced that the revenues of the Canal achieved an increase in March of this year by about $ 15 million, compared to March of the previous year, when the revenues amounted to $413.5 million dollars. The gain achieved by the Canal last March comes after the application of the new passage tolls, which imposed a 3% increase on the fees for ships crossing the Suez Canal. Fadel added that on the March 14, the Canal scored its highest revenue daily, as 61 vessels crossed the Canal, while March 31 achieved the highest rate for net tonnage of 3450 tons.
