CAIRO: Three Israeli Warships had crossed the Suez Canal this year, according to sources from the Suez Canal. The sources said that two Israeli warships “Lahiv” and “Jaffa” had crossed the Suez Canal last March, carrying 3000 tons, and another ship crossed the waterway in January with 2000 tons. Seven Israeli ships had passed through the Suez Canal in 2011, with a tonnage of 15,000, and most of the ships do not carry the Israeli flag for fear of being targeted in the Arab ports. The Suez Canal tightens its security measures during the passage of warships, especially so, when the Israeli ones are crossing through the canal.
