NAIROBI: Kenya's Safaricom and E.A Qualcomm have announced to set up a 3G experiential tour for their products and services. This will enable customers to test-drive their 3G devices. “We are passionate about growing our data services, especially with 3G. The Safaricom 3G Experiential Tour showcases the latest generation of Safaricom' mobile services and the most advanced smart phones based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors,” said Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore. In the event there will be live demonstrations of smart phones that use Qualcomm's ‘Snapdragon' processors. These processors enable users to social network and surf the internet faster in addition to that they let you run apps seamlessly. “About 95 percent of Kenya's Internet users access the Internet on mobile networks. Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors sharpen this experience by enabling users to do more and recharge less, so they can spend more time watching videos, downloading music, playing games and interacting with friends via social networks,” said Qualcomm's East Africa operations director Billy Owino. The 3G tour is aimed at bringing the two giant companies in East Africa together as both of them are well known as wireless 3G network provider for Safaricom and Qualcomm is well accredited as a 3G and next-generation mobile technology provider.
