CAIRO: Egypt's Higher Presidential Elections Commission (HPEC) has sent an official letter to the Foreign and Interior Ministries asking them to include the names of presidential candidates Hazem Salah Abu-Ismail and Abdel Monem Abul-Fotouh to the list of names of presidential candidates marked for inquiry about the nationality of their mothers, wives and children, commission Secretary General Hatem Bagato said on. The Foreign Ministry, in turn, sent inquiries to all its diplomatic missions abroad to gather information about the nationalities of the candidates and their families, said Mohamed al-Shenawi, an official at the Foreign Ministry.
