SANA'A: As leaders are preparing for the Arab Summit scheduled to take place this Thursady in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, Yemen officials told Bikyamsar.com that President Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi would not attend. Instead, long standing Foreign Ministry, Abu Baker ak-Qirby will represent Yemen at the summit. The Foreign Ministry refused to comment on the move, only saying that the President had judged that his presence in Baghdad was not necessary and that he had chosen for the time being to focus on more pressing issues. President Hadi, who just returned from an official visit to Saudi Arabia, where he met with King Abdullah, announced that Riyadh had agree to allocate Yemen with two months' worth of petroleum products, adding that the King had promised to stand by Yemen's side. As Yemen is still awaiting foreign aid to flow, as promised by the “Friends of Yemen” upon the inking last November of the power-transfer, which oversaw the resignation from power of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, Hadi warned that the country's economy, industry and social make-up were virtually staring at the abyss, enthralled in a cycle of violence and political stand-off.
