International Fund for Animal Welfare chosen for YouTube's Next Cause Class
Published in Bikya Masr on 20 - 03 - 2012

YouTube has selected IFAW (the International Fund for Animal Welfare) to be a member of its first official YouTube Next Cause class for leading nonprofit organizations.
From thousands of eligible organizations, YouTube selected IFAW and 19 others to participate in the launch of its Next Cause program based on the organizations' commitment to using YouTube, demonstrated passion for improving their use of online video and future potential for using YouTube to engage audiences and drive action.
“IFAW is proud to be a participating organization for this inaugural YouTube Next Cause class,” said Erica Martin. “The generosity of the YouTube team and Google at large to support the nonprofit sector with these sorts of initiatives helps not only IFAW but also nonprofits around the world to better reach like-minded supporters and affect true change.”
At an exclusive one-day summit in San Francisco on April 2, 2012, the 20 participants will receive training in YouTube fundamentals, advanced promotion and community engagement tips and one-on-one consulting sessions on how to grow their YouTube channels and online presence.
The program will also include presentations and interactive discussions with Google teams about how to generate an audience and use YouTube to grow awareness, interest, funds, volunteers and global engagement.
The program is open to nonprofit organizations that are part of the YouTube Nonprofit Program, of which IFAW has been a partner since the program launched more than five years ago. The program provides nonprofits with unique benefits such as premium branding capabilities and increased uploading capacity. YouTube chose IFAW for its broad global work and consistent use of YouTube for advocacy.
Other participants in the YouTube Next Cause program include Children's Hospital Boston, Born Free USA, CARE, Autism Speaks, American Heart Association, Malaria No More and the American Foundation for Equal Rights.
