At least 14 construction workers were killed when a fire swept through their dormitory tent in Istanbul, news reports in Turkey said Monday. The fire broke out late Sunday at a building site in Istanbul, Anadolu news agency said. The cause of the blaze was not yet certain. Police said they were investigating the incident and had not ruled out arson, but told Bikyamasr.com that “this is unlikely to be the case in this instance we believe.” The mayor of the district of Esenyurt was quoted as saying the fire could have been sparked by an electric heater.
