CAIRO: At least four workers were killed when a fire erupted at an oil refinery in the port city of Suez on Wednesday, officials said. Another 6 workers were injured in the fire that broke out inside a lubricants unit of the state-run company located around 140 kilometers east of Cairo, the sources told dpa. Firemen were battling the blaze, the cause of which was not immediately known, they said. It is the latest incident on oil and natural gas installations in the country. Over the past 12 months, the gas pipeline in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula has been attacked by militants 12 times, causing gas to stop flowing to Israel and Jordan. It is unclear if the most recent incident in Suze was the result of sabotage, although officials close to the refinery told Bikyamasr.com have not ruled out arson.
