SAN FRANCISCO (dpa): Is there no frontier that the Angry Birds have left to conquer? The hit game from Finnish company Rovio has already taken over almost every smartphone and tablet computer on the planet. And now it is heading into space through a collaboration between Rovio and NASA. The US space agency announced the move Thursday saying that the new game, Angry Birds Space was designed “to teach people about physics and space exploration.” “From the weightlessness of space to the gravity wells of nearby planets, players use physics as they explore the various levels of the game set both on planets and in microgravity,” the space agency said. The unique effort was even supported by astronaut Don Pettit on the International Space Station who created a video on space physics that features an Angry Bird being catapulted through the orbiting space structure, 240 nautical miles above earth. The big difference from the earth-based version is that the characteristic looping flight trajectory of the birds is changed in space because no gravity is pulling the bird down in the weightless environment. The game officially launches on March 22. BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/PtYA9 Tags: Angry Birds, Goes, NASA Section: Latest News, Tech
