SANA'A: Sources in Aden revealed on Wednesday that al-Qaeda militants were now threatening to strike the American Language Institute AMIDEAST in the southern city of Aden if its staff did not immediately comply with the group's demands. Ever since President Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi was elected in February 21, the terror group has been busy spreading fear and insecurity, issuing warnings that all state collaborators were now guilty of apostasy and would be punished. The Secretariat of the Institute received an anonymous phone call on Tuesday saying that the organization had now become an al-Qaeda target. Management tried to play down the threat by arguing that similar warnings had been issued over the years but that nothing had happened. However, teachers and students are said to be worry, especially in the wake of the Abyan massacre where al-Qaeda militants killed a reported 200 soldiers in their surprise assault of a military base. Pamphlets were also distributed in several of Yemen's major cities with the Islamic group foretelling of attacks to come on Taiz, Aden, Hodeida and Sana'a, the capital.
