CAIRO: During their regular meeting yesterday at the Embassy of Sweden in Cairo, representatives of over 15 Swedish companies in Egypt emphasised their confidence in the future of Swedish business in Egypt, the second largest market for Swedish exports in the Middle East. Commenting on the outcome of the meeting, Swedish Ambassador Malin Kärre said: “Swedish business in Egypt is relatively stable and many companies have reported a considerable growth in their income. Moreover, we have witnessed a number of big Swedish investments in Egypt following the revolution like the Swedish Appliance manufacturer Electrolux which has acquired Olympic Group and IKEA, the Swedish home furnishing giant, to open its stores soon in Egypt. Just few examples of how Swedish investors are showing confidence in the Egyptian market's great potential.” The Swedish business meeting is a regular gathering organised by the Swedish Embassy in Cairo, in collaboration with the Swedish Trade Council, to discuss the current market conditions and potential business opportunities for Sweden in Egypt. The event was attended by representatives of some of the biggest Swedish brands such as Electrolux, Ericsson, Gambro for medical technology, Gamma Knife Center for Health Care, Oriflame, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), Scania, Tetra Pak.
