CAIRO: Syrian activists have reported on Wednesday that two Western reporters were killed in the Syria city of Homs. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported the deaths, but little information has been revealed. The victims were a woman with US citizenship and a French man, the head of the London-based observatory reported. They were killed in the Homs district of Baba Amr, he added. The Syrian government has been pounding the area over the past few weeks in an effort to crackdown on the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad. At least 7,200 people have been killed since protests began in March of last year, the London-based organization has stated. Journalists have been targeted in the country during the conflict, which has seen tension among the international community grow over how to deal with the increase in violence.
