DUBAI: Gambling in Singapore can turn deadly. On Friday, local media reported that a gambler who had finally won a decent sum of cash, collapsed and died in a local hospital from the excitment. Ong Seng Kee, 56, had lost all his money at the Resorts World Sentosa casino, where he had gone Sunday night with friends, but one of his companions loaned him money to continue gambling. The fortune teller turned that 200 Singapore dollars (158 US dollars) into 5,000 Singapore dollars at the baccarat tables, the friend said. As he gathered his winnings, he suddenly shouted for help and collapsed, scattering chips across the casino floor, the unidentified woman said. He was taken to hospital, but attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. The cause of his death had yet to be determined. Local casino sources in the city-state told Bikyamasr.com that people often collapse after a big win, but “it is very rare that they die as a result.” The casino executive, who asked that he remain anonymous, added that “gambling is not for the weak hearts and people need to understand it can deliver a lot of tension and stress and excitement in short bursts.” BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/zx0uv Tags: Casino, Death, Singapore Section: East Asia, Health, Latest News
