Abuja (dpa) – An explosion on Tuesday in a residential area in the north-central Nigerian city of Kaduna killed a policeman, witnesses and local media said. The blast, barely a week after a suicide bomber targeted military buildings in the same city, occurred in the densely populated area of Ungwar-Sarki. The bomb exploded when the policeman attempted to defuse it. Witnesses who spoke to dpa by telephone said they saw a military helicopter on patrol after the blast. “There were multiple blasts coming from the area, which is about one kilometer from where I was,” said Mohammed Mamoh. “Thick smoke clouded the vicinity. I ran for my dear life,” he said. The area is home to schools, banks and business centers. BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/NwWAA Tags: Attack, Nigeria, Police Section: Latest News, West Africa
