Tehran (dpa) – Iranian officials on Sunday started talks with a visiting Chinese envoy over Tehran's nuclear dispute with the West, ISNA news agency reported. Chinese deputy foreign minister Ma Zhaoxu met with Iran's deputy nuclear negotiator, Ali Baqeri, and discussed the scheduled nuclear negotiations between Tehran and the world powers, ISNA said without giving further details. The Chinese envoy and his delegation were scheduled to meet other relevant officials on the issue during their two-day visit. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday once again declared Iran's readiness to resume nuclear talks with Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States. China and Russia are also in favor of resuming the talks with Tehran, but the Western countries are still hesitant to do so as their main demand – the suspension of uranium enrichment – has so far been rejected by Iran. While reiterating Iran's uncompromising stance, Ahmadinejad announced on Saturday that the country would disclose new nuclear projects within the coming days.
