CAIRO: Dr. Amr Hamzawy, Heliopolis deputy and member of Egypt's newly elected parliament has called for the cancellation of Egypt's controversial state of emergency law during the second session of parliament today. Hamzawy stressed that the families of the martyrs should have been allowed to attend a procedural hearing held on January 16 in Tunisia. Meanwhile, PM Akram El-Sha'er, whose son is recovering from injuries sustained during protests held in Germany, adamantly rejected any monetary compensation, demanding the execution of those responsible for the deaths of the martyrs. The declaration was met with a standing ovation of all members of parliament, who clapped enthusiastically for several minutes. El-Sha'er stressed that the trial was a farce, demanding a political trial for the killers, while a few Parliament members dissolved into tears during his speech, including the President of the Council, Dr. Saad Katatni. El-Sha'er concluded his comments, crying, “I do not want money; I want retribution.” BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/6DMG9 Tags: Akram El-Sha'er, Amr Hamzawy, Egypt parliament, Emergency Law, Martyrs Section: Egypt, Latest News
