CAIRO: The head of Egypt's interim military council, Field Marshall Hussein Tantawi, will visit Libya on Monday to discuss the future of diplomatic ties between the two neighboring countries, according to a report from the state-run Al-Ahram newspaper. Tantawi and several Egyptian ministers plan to meet with the head of Libya's ruling National Transitional Council (NTC), Mustafa Abdel Jalil. The leaders will discuss Egypt's role in assisting Libya rebuild after the state was ravaged by an eight-month armed revolt against the late Libyan leader Muammar Ghaddafi. They will also discuss Libyan investments in Egypt. “They will also discuss the possibility of extraditing some members of the Gaddafi regime (staying in Egypt),” NTC representative Abdel Hafez Ghuqa told Al-Ahram. Tantawi's trip to Libya will be his first international visit since he took power in February 2011 after the ousting of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
