Kathmandu (dpa)- An 11-year-old orphan boy was beaten to death in western Nepal after a theft of 10 rupees (0.12 US dollar), a report said Monday. Jeevan Shrestha succumbed to blunt-force injuries to his throat, back and chest in a hospital Sunday, the Republica daily said. He had been beaten by a butcher in the Myagdi district nine days earlier for stealing the money, police said. Aslam Khan reportedly beat the boy after discovering him sharing a packet of biscuits with his son, who had taken the 10-rupee note from his father's meat shop. Police arrested Khan and were waiting for an autopsy report before laying charges for murder, the report said. BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/KYA9W Tags: Murder, Nepal Section: Latest News, South Asia
