Jakarta (dpa) – The wife of a man accused of involvement in the 2002 Bali bombings was sentenced Wednesday to 27 months in an Indonesian prison for immigration offenses. Ruqayyah binti Husein Luceno, the 28-year-old Philippine-born wife of Umar Patek, was found guilty of lying to get an Indonesian passport. She was arrested in Pakistan in January 2011 along with Patek, an Indonesian who had a 1-million-dollar bounty on his head for allegedly assembling the explosives used in the bombings. Islamist militants bombed two nightclubs in Bali in October 2002, killing 202 people, mostly foreign tourists. Three key players in the attack – Imam Samudra, Mukhlas bin Nur Hasyim and his brother Amrozi – were sentenced to death and executed in 2008. Patek was expected to stand trial in the coming months.
