DUBAI: Kuwait's 5th biennial International Forum of Islamic Arts at the Grand Mosque in Kuwait City has received much local and international praise for showcasing Islamic art from across the globe. Iran has been exceptionally intertwined in the event, showcasing much of its history at the event and the deputy head of Kuwait's Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Iran's cultural attaché as well as a number of ambassadors and representatives from different countries attended the inauguration ceremony held in late December. Viewers are treated to over 50 participants from 22 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman, the UAE, Iraq, Bahrain, Palestine, Jordan, Algeria, Syria, Sudan, Pakistan, Malaysia, Turkey, Iran, Morocco, India, Bangladesh, Hungary and China, have presented their work in various sections of this year's event. The event includes the exhibition of Arabic calligraphy, Islamic decoration, and Islamic textile and Ka'aba curtains gallery as well as workshops for young people and children, specialized in Arabic calligraphy, and the art of composition by clicking on the paper. Organized by Fareed Al-Ali, Grand Mosque's Islamic Arts Center manager and calligrapher, the Forum is a great way to present multiple cultures and their interpretation of art.
