Gaza/Tel Aviv (dpa) – Israeli Air Force jets bombed two targets in the Gaza Strip overnight, in response to several rockets fired into southern Israel, the military said Thursday. The strikes hit a site used by Palestinian militants in central Gaza and a tunnel dug by militants in the north of the coastal enclave, it said in a statement. Nobody was reported injured, but residents in northern Gaza said they heard several explosions when the tunnel was hit. They said it might have been used to hide weapons. Late Wednesday, two rockets landed in the southern Israeli Negev desert, not far from the border with Gaza. Palestinian militants fired a third early Thursday. The strikes came after Israel launched two targeted airstrikes in Gaza City and northern Gaza on Tuesday, against members of a Global Jihad cell who, according to the military, were planning an imminent cross-border attack. One militant was killed and 12 Palestinians injured. BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/tVCbX Tags: Attack, Bomb, Gaza, Israel Section: Latest News, Palestine
