Geneva (dpa) – Audi is planning to unveil at the Geneva Motor Show in March a super-fast version of the A1 with a 2-litre turbo engine providing an output of 256 horsepower, according to a report in Germany's Autobild newspaper. Fitted with 18-inch alloys, a quattro transmission provides equal power to all four wheels. A special clutch system operates electronically, providing most of the power to the front wheels. In the case of reduced traction, power is then transferred to the rear wheels. In addition an electronic differential system (EDS) prevents single wheels from spinning, according to the report. The special A1 Quattro version will be limited to a production run of 333 units, available shortly after the Geneva Show, according to the report.
