SANA'A: Yemen's Prime Minister Mohamed Basendwa announced today to the press that he would soon disclose the names of the new ministers of Yemen's coalition government. This declaration comes amidst a new bout of violence, which shockwaves are still being felt throughout the country as the specter of civil war is once again shadowing people's hope for a better tomorrow. After a relative lull in violence, violent clashes in the capital, Sana'a and other cities across Yemen proved that despite the signature of a power transfer the country was still very much on the brink. Both parties, Sheikh Sadeeq al-Ahmar loyalists and the government forces are maintaining that they were merely reacting to the other's provocations. In the midst of such uncertainty and reports of more death in Taiz, a flashpoint of the revolution, Basendwasaid: “The government has been formed and we will announce it formally this evening. We have agreed on all the names.” We know already that all the ministries will shared equally in between the ruling party and the Opposition with the regime retaining Defense, Oil and Minerals, Foreign Affairs, Telecommunication and Civil Services. Rumors are circulating that most of the ministries of the opposition will be filled by al-Islah party members, Yemen's Islamist party, which is making many people nervous; especially since characters such Sheikh Abdel Mageed al-Zindani happens to be one of al-Islah party leaders. The sheikh is a wanted with alleged links to al-Qaeda. BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/SJN7u Tags: Basendwa, Clashes, Government Section: Yemen
