CAIRO: Google shared the excitement of the Egyptian elections with it users with an avatar that celebrates the process. Millions of Egyptians are flocking to polling stations to cast their vote in the country's first elections following the popular uprising earlier this year that ousted former President Hosni Mubarak. An electoral expert told state-run al-Ahram newspaper that the turn out is expected to reach 80 percent of voters. The first day of the elections is seeing great numbers of women and youth casting their votes in one of 18,536 stations around the country. Monday has seen some minor violations so far, with stations that have unstamped and unsigned voting sheets to candidates and parties continuing to campaign outside polling stations. BM
