Here is your Barclays Premier League Wrap Up: Liverpool drew 1-1 with Manchester City Manchester United 1-1 Newcastle United Resurgent Newcastle escaped from their game against Manchester United with a 1-1 draw after a controversial penalty was put home by Demba Ba. The Red Devils went ahead thanks to a pinball type goal. In the 49th Wayne Rooney got the ball back after a ricocheted free kick from the penalty arc and launched in another shot which bounced off several players, the final of whom was Javier Hernandez. The game was actually quite the showcase for goalkeeping abilities. Bother keepers, David De Gea and Tim Krul made several outstanding saves to keep the match close. In the 52nd Newcastle made their mark. Hatem Ben Arfa tore into the area and as he was going in towards goal he got a slight touch on the ball just as Rio Ferdinand was coming in with a challenge. Ferdinand did not get the ball but Ben Arfa did his part to sell the penalty. Newcastle's leading scorer Demba Ba stepped up and planted the penalty to equalize. West Bromwich Albion 1-3 Tottenham Hotspur Spurs moved to 3rd in the league on Saturday with a convincing 3-1 win over West Brom. Former Arsenal, City and Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor bagged a brace for the visitors and Jermain Defoe added another. West Brom went up first with ten minutes from a Yousuff Mulumbu header. In the 25th Albion defender Nicky Shorey tripped up speedy winger Aaron Lennon which allowed Adebayor to get on the score sheet. His penalty was saved but he pounced on the rebound and leveled the match. Defoe pitched in his goal in the 81st from a nice low drive from the outside that got past Ben Foster. Adebayor then left no doubt with his second of the match in added time. A pretty pass by Gareth Bale put Adebayor in position to slot it home from ten yards out. Liverpool 1-1 Manchester City Table toppers Manchester City were brought down a notch by Liverpool on Sunday. The only goals of the 1-1 match were scored within two minutes of each other and they were both scored by a City player. In the 31st the Citizens took the lead from a Vincent Kompany header. A perfectly placed corner found the Belgian's head and put the visitors ahead. Then minutes later Liverpool got lucky when Charlie Adam's shot was directed in by an outstretched leg of Joleon Lescott. City keeper Joe Hart scrambled to keep it out of goal but could not reach it in time. The game had good attacking sequences all night from both sides. In the waning moments of the match Glen Johnson sent in a flick cross to substitute Andy Carroll who directed his header back toward goal. With a sensational one-handed flying save Joe Hart kept the game equal and allowed Manchester City to walk out with a point.
