SANA'A: Yassin Said Noman a known member of the opposition and head of the socialist political faction in Yemen announced to the press on Sunday that given President Ali Abdallah Saleh's refusal to negotiate a “real” transition of power the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) would have no choice but to quit the dialogue, leaving the regime to face the masses. Numan told the BBC last night that the opposition was tired of the incessant political back and forth, adding that it was clear that President Saleh had no intention what so ever of stepping down willingly. He mentioned that since the beginning of the uprising the JMP only ambition had been to intervene on behalf of the Yemeni people to avoid bloodshed; trying to transition the country into a political transfer of power rather than a violent Revolution. Noman also rejected VP Hadi's latest declarations in regards to the negotiations progress, stating that the regime and the opposition were not making any progress at all discussing the mechanisms of the transfer of power. The politician finally called on the international community to exert further pressure onto the regime, stressing that Yemen was at a dangerous crossroads and that actions needed to be taken immediately.
