Boeing on Tuesday launched its newest, environmentally friendlier plane, the Dreamliner passenger jet. The Boeing 787 made its maiden voyage and has the aviation industry excited over the new plane, made from plastic-like carbon material instead of traditional metal. It is the first such plane of its kind. The new plane should also have passengers looking forward to booking a ticket, with windows 30 percent larger, seat-to-seat email, larger touch-screen entertainment systems and also a bidet in the lavatories. The plane, being made from carbon composites and not traditional metal, it is lighter and cheaper to operate, which could possibly reduce costs for passengers if successful. Shinichiro Ito, president of Japan's All Nippon Airways, which flew the jet from Tokyo to Hong Kong, said: “It's a game changer.” BM
