Australia's Stosur cruises into US Open semis

Australia's Samantha Stosur cruised into the semifinals at the US Open on Thursday, defeating number 2 seed Vera Zvonareva 6-3, 6-3 in less than 70 minutes.
It was a quick match that saw the Australian jump out to an early lead and never look back. The former Roland Garros runner-up is hoping to continue to show solid form as she enters the final four.
Stosur will play the winner of the Angelique Kerber and Flavia Penneta quarterfinal. Penneta upset #3 seed Maria Sharapova earlier in the tournament and after overcoming near exhaustion, was able to make it to her third US Open quarterfinals.
Stosur continued her solid play against Zvonareva, who appeared not to have any response to the Australian's play.
