A suicide bomber killed four soldiers and injured tens more in Yemen on Saturday. The attacker drove an explosive car into a checkpoint near Adan governate, where soldiers were on alert over fighting with groups allegedly affiliated with al-Qaeda, a Yemeni security official said on Saturday. Six militants were killed in the province of Zingebar while five more were arrested after violent clashes with the military forces. Yemen has seen on going protests against the rule of president Ali Abdullah Saleh who is currently recovering in Saudi Arabia after an assassination attempt last June. Protesters have been calling on Saleh to not return to Yemen and remain in the Saudi Kingdom that supports his regime. Saleh has been ruling the country for the past 33 years under the blessing of Washington that supports the military's fight against al-Qaeda in the Arabian peninsula that launched several attacks, like the one on Saturday, against the military. Saleh said in a video statement that he is returning to Yemen. Last Friday, over one million people took to the streets across Yemen demanding that the opposition bring an end to Saleh's regime and warned of an armed struggle on the likes of Libya. BM
