CAIRO: According to reports from Tunisia, some 2,000 Libyan refugees have fled to Tunisia in the past 24 hours, the official press agency TAP reported on Saturday. After a relative lull, Dhehiba-Wazen, the country's second largest border post with Libya is seeing a massive influx of refugees from the country's western coastal areas, where violent clashes are continuing between Libyan rebels and pro-Gaddafi forces, TAP said. Meanwhile, a number of injured Libyan rebels were transferred on Friday towards Tunisian hospitals including the local hospital in Tataouine. Ras El Jedir, Tunisia's main border post with Libya has recorded a drop of its flow following the control of coastal towns of Zaouia and Samara by the rebels. It comes as international officials have reported that Muammar Gaddafi may be looking to head into exile as rebels have captured key positions close to the Libyan capital Tripoli. BM
