Nedjma, the Algerian telecommunications company, announced its “Neighborhood” store concept in a statement Wednesday, according to the independent Algerian Arabic daily ElKhabar. Nedjma, Arabic for star, will be opening 24 “City Shops” around Algeria. The statement said the goal was to get closer to customers in central, eastern and western Algeria. The new sales method is meant to expand Nedjma's reach into medium-sized cities, and into customers of “all shades.” Customers will be able to buy all home and business services, pay bills, replace SIM cards, and configure mobile and other internet devices in-store. Nedjma, or Wataniya Télécom Algérie, is a subsidiary of Qatar Telecom, also known as Qtel. Qtel is the Qatari state-owned carrier. BM
