A top African ICT company is continuing to push across the globe, this time expanding its services in its home continent. Dimension Data, which has a presence in 10 African countries, hopes to increase its footprint in those locations in order to boost its revenue and profit, the company said. According to the company's website, it currently has offices or a presence in Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Uganda and Tanzania. It offers outsourcing services, logistics, consulting and supply-chain services, the company's about section said. IT News Africa reported earlier about the company's plans to improve services across the country, and nowhere is there more excitement than in Algeria, a country has seemingly been on the outs of the IT revolution across North Africa, but analysts hope new efforts will help push the sector forward. “We have long struggled to compete with our neighbors, but hopefully as more companies like Dimension see a place in our country it will help increase awareness,” said Ibrahim Touta, a ministry of communications outsourcing consultant. He said that Dimension holds “great opportunities” because “it will allow foreign companies to see that they don't have to be afraid of Algeria.” This comes as the Algerian government continues to work on new initiatives to bolster local education in the information technology sectors in order to boost its chances of nabbing one of the lucrative deals with a company looking to outsource to a cheaper destination.
