On the anniversary of the 100 day mark since the beginning of the Egyptian revolution on January 25, the country's Revolution Youth Coalition called for masses of Egyptians to participate in a celebration on the occasion. Thousands of Egyptians met to celebrate on Friday in a joyous occasion to put more support to the continued efforts in the “New Egypt.” In its statement, the Coalition emphasized that Egyptians look forward to other Arab countries catching up with freedom, stressing that it supports all people “aspiring to democracy and that the Egyptians are all with their fellow Arabs.” In this regard, the Coalition calls for summoning the ambassadors of Libya, Syria and Yemen and conveying to them a formal protest and to pressure their governments to stop blood being shed. It also called for the expulsion of Ahmad Qazaf el-Dam from Egypt as he is one of the most prominent pillars of Moamar al-Gaddafi's regime in Libya, in addition to what it said about him “transferring money for the regime, the killer.” Mohammed Abbas, a member of the Coalition told al-Sharouk daily newspaper that “the ceremony was in al-Tahrir Square at four o'clock in the afternoon.” “We want to review and support the accomplishments of the revolution and what was achieved and what remains from the main demands of the revolution and also to support the revolutions in the Arab world,” he continued. He stressed that he invited all the national forces and that notifications were sent to the ambassadors of Libya, Syria and Yemen to Egypt to inform them of the Coalition's protest for the suppression of demonstrators in their countries. The Coalition called upon all “honorable people all over the Arab world to go out in the major fields in their countries in support of their brothers.” Finally, the coalition, in its statement, called upon the government to withdraw the nomination of Mustafa el-Feki for the post of the Secretary General of the Arab League, saying he “represented the former regime and his involvement in rigging the parliamentary elections.” BM
