Uganda's President to talk to Egyptians in Tahrir Square

CAIRO: Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni had a phone call today with Mustafa El Gendi, assistant chief of the Al Wafd Party, member of the People's Parliament and coordinator of the Public Diplomacy delegation's visit, who visited Uganda a few days ago and met with Museveni on the issue of the Nile water.
During the call Museveni expressed his contentment of the media coverage of the Egyptian delegation's visit to Uganda and that it delighted both the Egyptian and the Ugandan public.
The President also expressed his optimism of the future, “this is the real beginning of a permanent cooperation between the two countries”, said Uganda's president.
El Gendi asked Museveni to speak to the Egyptian people from Tahrir Square during his coming visit to Egypt. On his side Museveni stressed that this is an honor for any African or global leader to deliver a speech at Tahrir Square “the most famous fields of freedom in the world” and promised El Gendi to set a date within the next few days, asking him to translate his words.
El Gendi stated that Ugandan President Museveni also told him during the call that he will contact the Ethiopian Prime Minister within days to arrange a meeting between the Egyptian Public Diplomacy delegation and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, to start a new phase of relations between the Nile Basin countries.
Museveni thanked all the members of the Egyptian delegation who visited Uganda and which included the heads of parties, political figures and revolution's youth and welcomed their attendance to Uganda at any time they see suitable.
On behalf of the People's Parliament, the parties' leaders and the youth, El Gendi sent heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the President of Uganda for the warm reception and hospitality they received and for his sincere efforts for the unity of the Nile Basin countries.
During the phone call, El Gendi and Museveni discussed what took place during the meeting between El Gendi and a number of the members of the delegation after returning from Uganda with Essam Sharaf, Egyptian Prime Minister, and the report which was submitted to him on the visit to Uganda.
El Gendi also told Museveni that he delivered his invitation to Sharaf to visit Uganda.
