CAIRO: The Cairo Appeals Court approved measures to uncover the details of secret accounts held by Egypt's former First Lady. The measures were approved on Wednesday, and will allow investigators to look into Suzanne Saleh Thabet's secret accounts, particularly one supposedly used to collect donations for the Library of Alexandria. The Court ruling grants permission to the Illicit Gains Authority to seek information about all accounts used to receive donations for the Library at banks across the country, and Suzanne's dealings with international banks. Suzanne is one of those under a travel ban and her assets were frozen along with those of former ministers, government officials, businessmen and the former president Hosni Mubarak himself. On Tuesday, The Cairo Criminal Court upheld the Attorney General's decision to freeze the assets of Mubarak and his family, including his wife, two sons, daughters-in-law and grandsons. The court ruling applies to cash, real estate, shares and securities in banks and companies. BM
