CAIRO: The demand for Egyptian Labor witnessed a significant decrease during last year, as it fell by 50 percent, according to a report by the government's Information and Decision Support Center. The monthly bulletin released by the Information and Decision Support Center of the Egyptian Cabinet said that the index for Egyptian labor dropped from 457 in January 2010 to 201 in January 2011. The demand index of Egyptian labor internally, fell from 2037 to 474. The demand index for Egyptian labor for those with a higher education degree and post graduates dropped from 401 to 282, while the demand for those with an intermediate or above intermediate education fell from 858 to 170. The demand index for Egyptian Labor abroad fell from 528 to 402. The report stated that the job vacancies in the National Bulletin of employed decreased slightly from 19,080 jobs in January 2010 to 18,060 thousand in 2011. BM
