CAIRO: Around 3,000 Egyptian National Railways employees went on strike on Wednesday demanding that Transport Minister Atef Abdel Hamid reconsider their incentives. The protesters sat on railway lines, disrupting train services, and threatened not to move until their demands are met. Egyptian Railway Authority head Mustafa Qenawi along with a number of management heads held talks with the protesters in an attempt to break the strike and restore train services. Public Transport Authority drivers and employees said they will begin a strike on Thursday to demand that their incentives be reconsidered. BM
