Rolling Stones logo too wild for German horses: court
Tattooing a pony with the Rolling Stones famous “tongue” logo would infringe animal rights law, a German court ruled Wednesday.
The court in Muenster, northwestern Germany, found against the white pony's owner, who wanted to tattoo the animal's right hind thigh to make it “more uniquely beautiful.”
He had already shaved a large portion of hair from the animal and pre-tattooed the outline of the tongue, 15 square centimeters (six square inches) in area.
Kim Kardashian In Trouble With PETA
Kim Kardashian has got the animal rights campaigners of PETA fuming by flaunting two fur coats in New York. PETA claims that how can Kim do it when her sister Khloe Kardashian had worked on anti-fur ad for PETA.
Kim Kardashian is in trouble with the animal right campaigners for sporting a knee length fur coat, wide rimmed hat and leather belt. On another occasion on the same day she was seen wearing a short sleeve black fur. According to PETA authorities, Kim Kardashian has engaged herself into this deliberate act which cannot be ignored.
Indiana Commission votes in favor of so-called “kill pens”
Animal rights groups call them “kill pens” and they are fighting a new rule that would allow hunting dog training facilities across the state using coyotes and foxes as bait.
Animal rights groups are using graphic videos in a fierce debate over rules that would allow Indiana hunters to train dogs to chase prey in large, fenced-in facilities. Coyotes and foxes, they charge, that are cornered, mauled and killed often at the approval of the dogs owners.
“To me, it's legal dog fighting. You're using wildlife as the opposition,” said Christin Tank with TrainingNotTorture.org.
Philippines Cops rescue 70 dogs in QC
Police and members of an animal rights' group rescued 70 dogs from 2 dog meat peddlers in Quezon City, before dawn Thursday.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said they received a tip that a white van coming from southern Luzon will be transporting dogs to Pangasinan and other northern provinces on Thursday.
The QCPD said that when they spotted the white delivery van with plate number UFC and tried to flag it down, it sped off.
Indifference to cruelty cannot be excused
Henrico Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney Heidi Barshinger says she is “terribly disappointed” by the merciful treatment given to David Robinson. She's not alone. Robinson's cruel abuse of almost two dozen dogs shocked even veteran animal-welfare advocates. Some of the chained creatures were so starved their bodies had begun to cannibalize their own bone marrow.
Robinson has been set free to serve the remainder of his sentence at home and at his job — i.e., little more constrained than a lot of ordinary folks tied down by the obligations of work and family life. Every case is unique, and the circumstances of Robinson's may merit the leniency with which he has been treated.
