LONDON: Travelers from Europe are excited about a new Ryanair flight between Madrid and Oujda, which is aiming to boost travel from Europe to North Africa. It comes as the budget carrier announced it would launch flights from Brussels to Oujda last week. According to a press statement from Ryanair, the company will operate two weekly flights between the two cities. Last June, Ryanair launched three weekly flights between Marrakech and Valencia. According to travel agents here in London, the move is likely to spur additional routes in order to cater to more and more European travelers wanting to head to North Africa. “It is a cheaper destination to get to and once you are there it is cheaper to really enjoy a top vacation without the costs that other destinations have,” said Harold Vamper, a London-based tourism operator director. Ryanair operates more than 1,400 flights per day from 44 bases and 1100+ low fare routes across 27 countries, connecting 160 destinations. Ryanair operates a fleet of 250 new Boeing 737-800 aircraft with firm orders for a further 64 new aircraft (before taking account of planned disposals), which will be delivered over the next 2 years. Ryanair currently has a team of more than 8,000 people and expects to carry approximately 73.5 million passengers in the current fiscal year. BM
