Egypt's Orthodox, Catholic and Evangelical churches officially announced their withdrawal from the constituent assembly. “The constitution that is claimed to be issued, in its current form, does not reflect Egypt's Entrenched-across-generations pluralistic identity. In order to protect this identity, we are withdrawing from the constituent assembly,” the church said in a statement. Evangelical church faced a crisis, after its representative Safwat Al-Bayadi had refused to comply with the decision. Assembly's members asserted that they will continue their work, even after they withdrew.
