Egypt's general prosecution, headed by Talaat Abdullah, decided on Wednesday to transfer former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak from the military hospital to Torah prison hospital. The prosecution made the decision after its medical team submitted a report on Mubarak's health condition confirming that it has improved and can be treated from the prison hospital, reported the state news agency MENA. The prosecutor-general had ordered the formation of a medical team to follow up on the toppled president after the first hearing of his retrial over charges of complicity in the killing of peaceful protesters during an uprising that toppled him. Mubarak's health appeared better as he showed up for Saturday's trial waving his hands at his supporters and smiling. A Cairo appeals court ruled Mubarak's release on Monday after his legal detention period expired but he was kept in custody due to involvement in other charges. Earlier today, the court set May 11 to begin the retrial of the ousted president along with his sons and interior minister.
